I descend from Sarah Glassel (G9Y8-XB4) and Jean (John) Lillard LD4Z-D84)
Fan Chart shows both Sarah Glassel and Jean (John) Lillard and his 2nd Wife Mildred Jones as my grandmother. On the vital records page it shows that I have checked the 1st marriage as preferred. No chart should have me (Lucille Menegatti) descending from 2 people.
Sometimes when checking relationships, Mildred Jones rather than Sarah Glassel is shown as my 7th grandmother.
This problem has been going on for years. I have had a person delete the 1st marriage altogether 3 times.
I have written the person who entered the parents of Sarah Glassel as Peter Jones and Margaret Llewellyn as to any documentation for his addition in Feb 2023 of these people as Sarah's parents. Why the name Glassel - was she married before marrying Lilliard?

According to some trees on other sites, the maiden name of Jean Lilliard's next wife was Jones. There may be confusion about which wife the other contributor meant to follow.
When we are researching so early in North American history, sources are few, and stories are many.

Hi Lucille Welcome to FamilySearch Community and asking your question about your family tree. Here is what we see. Please find Layton Charles Bradley 1773-1848 (L3F4-TC2) on your tree.
His parents are listed as Augustine Lawrence Bradley 1740-1832 (LC5F-3JW) and Elizabeth Lillard 1745-1788 (LHZN-NZB)
Augustine Lawrence Bradley is listed as a child of Lawrence Augustine Bradley 1689-1784 (LCMN-K5D) and Elizabeth Lillard 1686-1788 (G3WC-RBW) (note this is a different Elizabeth Lillard than listed above).
Elizabeth Lillard (G3WC-RBW) is listed as a daughter of Jean Lillard and Sarah Glassel making Sarah Glassel a grandmother for you.
Now back up and look at the other Elizabeth Lillard (LHZN-NZB). She is listed at the daughter of Benjamin Lillard Sr 1700-1781 (LYFC-NQ2) and Elizabeth Ann Lightfoot 1701-1787 (L5GS-67M).
Benjamin Lillard is listed at the son of Jean Lillard and Mildred Jones making Mildred Jones also a grandmother for you.
So as the tree stands now, both Sarah Glassel and Mildred Jones are your grandmothers assuming the tree is correct. You should review it for correctness for the relationships listed above. This highlights the importance of working back from yourself one generation at a time making sure the relationships are correct.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you need further help.
