"Something Went Wrong" error in New Source Linker
Somehow I got the following message,
Something Went Wrong
Error loading source: /ark:/61903/1:1:QGQH-DDVV
I got there as follows...
On tree person KN2Z-31J , there was a research help of "Romero Rangel / Mexico, México, Civil Registration, 1861-1941". I opened it with the old source linker, and carefully reviewed the linked image (new image viewer link, old image viewer link). In the new image viewer, I added a highlight to the child's father's name, otherwise made no changes. Then I typed a detailed reason statement in the source linker and clicked "Attach". I got an error like "Error attaching source to record". So I tried to switch to the new source linker, and that's when I got the error above.
Here's what the new image viewer looked like. The relevant part of the source is acta 16, from the botom-right of image 9 to the top-left of image 11 (image 10 is a duplicate of 9).
But now Sebastian Eulogio Romero is completely missing from the index, on both the old image viewer and the new image viewer: there are only three principal names indexed on that image, where there were four before.

I have not done much editing using the new image viewer, but others who have, have posted bug reports here in Community that certain types of editing results in a person vanishing from the index. This is likely what happened to you. You edited by adding that highlight, the index record for Romero vanished, and then when you tried to attach that now missing record, the source linker could, of course, not do so.
Since this major issue has been reported several times, I would assume the programmers are working on a fix.

I ran into this again today, but not quite the same error.
I made edits to the groom Macedonio Felipe, first entry on left-hand page at https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939X-Q1YQ-Y?view=index&action=view , and now he and his bride have both disappeared from the index pane for that page.
But this time the source detail is still visible (at least to me), https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6J31-4W5L .
And the old image viewer still shows him, with the highlight and edits I made, https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939X-Q1YQ-Y?i=95&cc=1837908&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3A6J31-4W5L . (Except that I changed his gender from "Unknown" to "Male" in the new editor, and now he's showing as "Femenino" [female]!)

When there is an error using the viewer, the best thing you can do it to use the feedback tab on that page. You will choose an emoji and then type your problem into the text box. Please give as much detail as possible, such as the info you provided in the last three paragraphs of the above comment. Leave your email so the team can reach out to you and ask any pertinent questions. This is the most sure way to get this information to the correct team.
