How do I order a copy of my grandfather's birth certificate from Finland?
I am hoping to find out more information about my grandfather's family in Finland. He emigrated to Australia in 1960. From what I can see I am unable to access his birth record online as he was born in 1931. I have a copy of his application to enter Australia which I believe provides information on the parish register that his birth was recorded on. Any assistance with how to start this research from Australia would be greatly appreciated.

Information on how to order records by mail is included in the FamilySearch Research Wiki for Finland.
Once you know the county, you will be able to click on the map and find the parish.
In the parish you will find a mailing address in Finland.
I also found a link to digital images of birth records in Finland (in English).
