Sealing to Spouse GOLD temple ordinance icon
The gray temple ordinance icon represents completed or not needed. If a child dies before age 8, gray indicates ordinance not needed. Gold should be used the same. If a child dies before age 15, the gray icon should be used.
Why this helps: As I come across green or gold icons while searching my relations, I dig in to see what is needed. I assume many others do the same. It wastes our time when the icon is gold but no ordinance is needed. You may not think this is not important, but those of use who are not retired have limited time for family history. Anything to limit time wasted allows us to get more family history done.

That's a good idea.. My son died at the age 40 but he had mental and physical disabilities so he didn't need his work done.. I went to check to see and my husband had marked it as didn't need to be completed.. and that is how I learned that all those that died even as a adults with disabilities (those who couldn't make those decisions for themselves) didn't need the work done.. It is a relief.. but I don't like the gray button either.
