How long does the free ancestry access last?
I'm not yelling in caps, just legally blind. I received an email from FS inviting me to join ancestry world explorer or free. Is there a catch to this? How long doe the free access last? Please reply in all caps so I can read your your answer. Thank you.

Hi - Welcome to FamilySearch Community and asking your question about a free Ancestry account. There is no catch to this and many have enjoyed this free account for many years. There is no time limit for this free account. The same thing applies to accounts at Find My Past, My Heritage and several other sites. Hope this helps.

Note that Wayland's reply only applies to LDS members.
Also note that all caps is actually considerably less legible than mixed case. Capital letters are all exactly the same height and in exactly the same place on the line, so you cannot use size and placement as clues to decipher them. If the problem is that the mixed-case letters seem too small, simply adjust your zoom.

Also note, it is not "simply" a problem for me that mixed-case letters seem too small. I do know how adjust my zoom and in fact have my broweser set at 300% magnification. My vision issues are much more complex than that!
Youb see, your assumption that all caps are "considerably less legible than mixed-case because capital letters are the same height and placement . . . You cannot use size & placement to deypher them" doesn't apply to the visual issues i'm dealing with.
It is in fact, it is the very opposite for me. Sadly, because of the severe traumatic brain injury it has damaged the visual cortex of my brain. The visual cortex is responsible for receiving and intrperting visual information. In short, my eyes can see the size & placement of the mixed-case letters, but my brain can't interpret them.
I have worked very hard daily with my vision rehabibilitation therapist for the past three years to regain my ability to be able to read again.one of the strategies he he gave me to help function in my daily life, was to write & read in all caps.
When I first woke up from the six week coma, I saw four of everything in my field of vision. Can you just imagine what it would be like to see four of everything? It has taken me two and a half years and many, many changes to my specialized prism eyeglases for me to finally be able to see just one of everything.
