when indexing U S Masters of Vessels Oaths do you create a new image for part owners listed on the document?

    From the Project Instructions:

Index all records of a vessel master's oath containing a name and a recorded date.

You wouldn't create a new record for the part owners. You are only indexing the Oaths of the Masters.

A further instruction in the What to Remember Section expands on what to do when there are multiple masters:

    • Some documents may contain the names of multiple vessel masters. In this instance, index the name of the current or most recent vessel master.

I think the question is concerning documents about the actual ship that have an owner given and who signs at the bottom as the owner. Sometimes the document tells what percentage of the ship he owns and what percentage another (or others) own, so there is more than one owner's name given (owning simultaneously). When I review I index the person filling out and signing the form only because many times on a reference image, there will be a Master's Oath of Renewal of License for that ship and that same owner is given as and signs as the master. Many times the owners are the masters of their ships.
