When I'm on a persons page. Under tools when I click on "Merge by ID" A dialog box appears, why doesn't the cursor automatically appear in "Possible Duplicate ID" entry area? It seems like having to click in the box is a wasted step. Please let me know if you understand what I'm asking. Thanks Dale Williams

I think most people -- like me -- will never notice, because they click to paste the ID into the box, regardless of the cursor's state or location. But I agree that having it already there in the box would be handy, and sensible, too. (I mean, there's just the box, nothing else, where else could/should the focus actually be?)

There are two ways to paste in the ID number and with the one-step paste, this change is very noticeable and I agree that the box should be active as soon as the pop up opens.

    One-step paste:

    • Type control-V or command-V depending on system.

    Multi-step paste:

    • Find cursor.
    • Maneuver cursor to the text box.
    • Right click in the box.
    • Find Paste in the pop up menu.
    • Click Paste.

I do find that even now, pressing the tab key once after the box opens then command-V is a lot faster than using the mouse.
