I think we need a tree moderator

My post is because of things like this. If you visit LLQD-J7T (Buodica), we can see someone created a lot of "clones" of her daughter Julia

If we want to merge them, it's impossible

Contacting these trolls is useless. Therefore, I consider there should be a moderator that keep the trees clean of such pranks

Thanks for reading

It might not be a prank. It might be other people coming up against that same read-only relationship and therefore being unable to fix things.

I haven't ever worked on anything even close to a read-only part of the tree (thank goodness!), so I don't know the answer to this: can a relationship to a read-only profile be detached? If yes, then detaching everything and then merging and cleaning up the mess seems the best approach. If not, then you should flag your post for a moderator's attention; they can forward it to the people who deal with read-only profiles.

Or, given that this is basically mythology, you could just ignore the mess and work on real profiles elsewhere on the Tree.

Any relationship that includes a read-only person is also read-only. Such a relationship can't be deleted, edited, or updated in any way (including merge). So you can't detach anyone (even someone who is not read-only) from a read-only relationship.

I agree with@Julia Szent-Györgyi that this is most likely not a prank, but rather reasonable people doing the best they can to do a limited workaround within the restrictions created by a related read-only person. Only a data administrator can fix it.

Thank you all for your answers and comments

@Julia Szent-Györgyi how can I flag my post for a moderator? I only see the flag icon to report

I hope that I don't break any rule or bother you @PABulfinch if I tag you in this threat. I don't get it how to flag my post for moderator attention without making it look like a report. I hope you or any other moderator could give us some light about it

    Thank you

Your question has been forwarded to a specialty team for review and resolution. You may be contacted by that team if they need to gather more information.

@Arturo Gonzalez Rejon the flag button you see can also be used to ask a moderator to review your question. It's not just for reporting possible bad behavior.

Hi Arturo. For future reference, just click the flag on your post and report whatever is needed. In this case, you would ask for a review of merging possible duplicates attached to a read-only person and include the appropriate IDs.

@Bryan54 thanks for getting this one.
