Irene's (LB43-P91) mother
Hi, first of all, please keep in mind that I know the answer of the community, "please update for the correct information". So, no, that's not the question. I don't know who is the correct mother. This thread is to ask help to know who is the correct mother
This lady (Irene) is shown as daughter of two different women. One is Irene Komnene KCZL-2LJ and the another is Eirene Paleólogue GL5F-GYZ. Also I noticed that lady Komnene was married with a Paleólogo man before getting married with Isaac II, so I'm not sure if she took the lastname of her husband (in greek Paleólogue is female of Paleólogo), and making it (thank to misspelling in text) be writen as Eirene (as the second woman)
What makes me think it twice is that lady Paleólogue and lady Komnene have different ancestors and family trees, which makes no sense with the theory that they are the same woman
I would appreciate if you could help me to find out who is the real mother of Irene von Byzanz, and feel free to move my post to the correct category if necessary
Thank you in advance

I see that several people have looked at your question but you don't have any responses yet. I would assume that is because the only answer is that you will just have to keep researching until you come to your own conclusions or until you track down a specialist in this type of ancient research. It looks like going through all the sources and references on Isaac II's Wikipedia page would be a good start.
By the way, that far back there really is no such as thing as misspellings, just spellings. How a word ended up depended entirely on who was doing the writing. The Wikipedia article says her mother's name is Herina.
In general trees that far back are a mess with multiple conflicting relationships due to different researchers having different theories and a collection of incorrect merges and editing.
Good luck on your efforts as you, along with the other 120 people who have contributed to LB43-P91's record, attempt to get it correct. You could also start by trying to contact some of the 101 people following her record to see what they think of its current state. You can see that list by clicking the Follow link in the banner on her page to start following her yourself. Then go to your list of people you follow by clicking on the Following tab:
Click on the three vertical dots:
Then choose the third item in the menu that appears to see this:
You can click on any of the user names listed to start a chat with them. With the new Chat system, you could even get a group chat going to discuss your questions.

There are a couple of things that I noticed. Both mother's names are Irene. Both are born within the same time period. Could they be the same person?
I would join the Italy group in Community.
- Click the question mark at the top of the FamilySearch page
- Click "Community"
- Click "Sign In"
- Click "Groups"
- In the "Group" search bar put in "Italy"
- Click on the "Italy Research"
- Scroll down just a bit until you see how many people in the group. There should be a "Join" post. Click that.
- Now you will be able to make a post in "Discussions"
- Click the down arrow in "Discussions" and click "Ask a Question" The narrow rectangle is for the thrust of your question. The large rectangle is for the details. Give as many as possible. Good luck to you.

@PABulfinch, Italy? It's Byzantium: Greek and Latin, and no, there's no Community group focused on it. Or anything else from the 12th century.
I agree that the two mothers are clearly the same person, just coming at her based on different relationships and traditions of study.

Oh. In our German Group, they often help going back centuries, so I thought it would be possible here. Thank you for verifying that Irene was the same person. Appreciate your help so much, Julia.
