Photographs
I have some old photos of what are probably my husband's ancestors/relatives but of course they are not labeled. I know where most of them were taken and can guess when they were taken by comparing to others that I know the date. Is there any way to try to trace them and get them identified?

What I would do is add digitize them and add them directly to your gallery. Then create a new album called "Unknown relatives of ..." and add them to the album. While in the album, you can generate a shared link. THEN, go to the person page who originally owned this collection of photos that you inherited, and add the source link directly to the album. Thus, you create a new source leading people to your album. You can create this new source in as many ancestors as you feel would be relevant. I would, for example, add this source to all the siblings and the parents of the person who originally owned this collection.
If all goes well, you will begin to see tags appear. How? Initially none of your images will have a tag and each image, when viewed from the gallery level, will have a label saying "add tag". When you look at your album in the future and see images that no longer have that label, it means someone has begun tagging people.
