Re: My Grandfather on my Father's side.
Facts that I have: I am pretty sure he was born out of wedlock. My great grandmother picked him up from the Battersea Hospital, England & they lived in Winsley, Wiltshire, England. At the age of 11yrs. she brought him to Winnipeg, Man., Canada to live with his Aunt/Uncle as my grt.grnd. mother died in Winnipeg. He died was killed in a train accident in 1912 & the death record only said born in England.
Any suggestions?

I think you'll have to provide a lot more detail in order to get direct help on your grandfather's original identity. Have you found details for your great grandparents in the census records for England - and does he appear with them (though presumably he took the name of his adoptive parents)? What year did the family travel to Winnipeg? How old was he when he died?
I can understand if you are reluctant to provide too many personal details, but even with these it still could be difficult to find his birth mother / roots, etc. Even if an adoption society was involved and the procedures carried out correctly, getting to those confidential records from so long ago would be very difficult, I would think.
If you want to provide more details, that might get you some help, but without any idea of a birth name I would think you might have some difficulty here, especially after the passing of so many years.
