Method to organize family trees in simple data table
Hi,
One of the frustrating things about doing all this work is keeping track of family tree info and ordinances by family without clicking and clicking and clicking... I have 100 names in my reservations my family is working on but trying to figure out in a quick look which families have which ordinance needs, then I could focus on those ordinances to get them sealed. Ideally it would be a simple chart as attached here. For instance, the attached chart shows the McShane family. After clicking for 20 minutes and writing it down, I can see who needs Initiatory and who needs endowment. I see the wife is not endowed so that's a priority. I also see Alice has not been baptized - another priority. In the McGeown family there are two daughters named Catherine - one died early. This happens a lot - but my chart easily shows there are two - not the same one. I also see that the mother, Sally Ann McShane may be related to the previous McShane family but she was born just after James McShane so maybe his sister - not a child. Well, you get the drift. I built one that kept track of 7 famililes with about 50 children. This format helped me see quickly what work had to be done and when they were ready for sealing. We sealed 7 families at one time. BUT this takes a LOT of manual work. The system now gives info but it takes a lot of clicking over and over and over to get what you want. A way to assemble them in a chart - even export as csv or xls would be nice. At minimum - a workplace where I can build the chart within family search. and share it with those in my group. You have all the date - just reformat it a little :).
Thanks,
