    These are wonderful new resources for those without easy access to Family Search Centers. Thank you!

    Do visitors have to download the extension in order to access the premium websites in the church building?

    @r.asbury

    Yes, in order to use them in a church building, there has to be a browser extension on a computer or laptop for this to be accessible.

    Can we view restricted films using the extension?

    @Shirley Arnell

    You can view any records as though you were in a FamilySearch Center. If the record is also restricted from view at the center, then you would not be able to view via the extension.

    Although there are several centers close enough for me to visit they are all located in a church. Is it your policy to place all centers in a church?

    @Sarah Just Family history centers are often located in churches because they are sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church provides free access to FamilySearch resources and services to everyone, regardless of their religious affiliation, culture, or tradition.

    Family history centers are free and open to the public. They offer tools and resources for both experienced and novice family historians to learn about their ancestors.
