WVculture.org links are broken
"I am experiencing a challenge or roadblock"
Hello FamilySearch,
I would like to view my relatives death documents located at www.wvculture.org. When I click on any of the links I get an error. It looks the image is broken.
This is one of the persons I am trying to research: William Marshall Jackson https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NM8Y-JRY This is the broken link: https://archive.wvculture.org/vrr/va_view2.aspx?FilmNumber=1992194&ImageNumber=2260
I think WVculture.org has worked on their site and possibly caused this error. I don't know that to be the fact though. Could you please research and see what can be done to correct the problem?
Thank you,
Debbie

The problem is when the client (your browser) requests for this resource found at the URL, the server returns a "404 Not Found" error.
This could because the URL, which contains the image, being requested is the wrong one, the URL does not exist, or no longer exists.
Besides reaching out to WVculture, there is very little you and I can do to correct the "404 Not Found" and get the image you are looking for.
In fact, whenever I go to any part of the website at archive.wvculture.org (or to any person's vitals record), I get "404 Not Found" errors for all images the client tries to get from the server...

The comment on the Search page:
Due to concerns about county death records which are less than 50 years old having social security numbers available for viewing online, we have blocked searching for all death records less than 50 years old. The 1964 deaths will become available on January 1, 2016.
suggests the website has not been worked on for sometime. You need to contact West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History to query future availability of these images.

There have been problems accessing the WV vital records for at least a couple of years. There are a few threads on the subject in the Community.

I tried accessing a wvculture image just now. The error I'm getting is "Cannot open database "wvculture" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'wvdch'."
Could that username be the problem? (archive.wvculture was already part of the URL).

The WVCulture website has a message regarding repairs to their server as a result of recent bad weather.
As a result of the tornados and power outages last week we have had to get a repair done to our VRR server. We are working on the issue. Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
