On 9/23/2023 104 merges were made into profile LRQR-BN7. The 104 profiles were both male and female and did not seem to have any relation to the profile they were merged into. I have restored the profiles and reported the improper merges to FS. What a mess.

Why would someone do this?

Um, except it doesn't allow merges of profiles of different sexes ...?

Oh, I see: the user changed the sex, did a bunch of merges, changed the sex, did a bunch more, etc.

With those dates, the profile is purely fictional anyway: genealogical records simply weren't created that far back, never mind the question of what may have survived. I dare say the same is true of all of the merged profiles, so it appears that that user was attempting to use this profile as a "black hole" with which to clean things up. (See the recent thread somewhere in Community about someone's idea to name a profile "Mass Grave" and use it for the same purpose.)

Personally, I wouldn't bother with trying to clean something like this up. I'd simply disconnect from it whereever the documentation ran out. But if you feel you can make productive use of your time by sorting it out, more power to you.
