Records only availble in FamilySearch Centers -- can we see a list of them?
It would be very helpful, if a FamilySearch Center could access a list of the records that can only be seen in a FamilySearch Center or Salt Lake City.
This doesn't need to be individual records, but something like Births In New York from 1900-1950, and so one.
This would help FSCs to be able to show people that FSCs are valuable.

Such a list would be outdated before it could be compiled since FS is adding new records constantly and contracts change regularly. It would also be such a long list that it would be difficult to navigate.
You can check which records are restricted. This thread has some tips - https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/529949#Comment_529949
And births for NYC are only available through 1909 and are available on the free NYC Records website. https://a860-historicalvitalrecords.nyc.gov/search

FYI - this thread points out how frequently access can change. The book was available from home on 23 Sep but now is only available in SLC.

When searching for film images, it is often much more practical to view by going to Search then Images as opposed to looking in the Catalog.
In Images you search by Place primary and then with other search parameters to refine your search.
The value of the Images search is that all item listed to view are actually accessible and available to view.
In a Catalog search the whole image collection is presented with accessible as well as inaccessible items, which often presents with the consternation of restricted records being listed but as inaccessible.
So, I do recommend anyone to use the Images search first. If you do find that certain years or places are not listed to view in this database, it means they are not as yet available. If you search with the same parameters in the Catalog you may find them list but designated as restricted.
Be successful! @DavidBeck1

As an addendum to @DavidBeck1's comments about the catalog - the catalog has not been updated in more than 2 full years. The images section is up-to-date while the catalog will not show more recently-available record images.

If you are Searching Images, keep in mind that records that are contained in this category are those that are available on home computers.
Images do NOT CONTAIN any records which are only available in FamilySearch Centers, which is the subject of this topic.
