What Does My "Source Box" Start a Collapsing/Expanding Loop After I Attach or Edit a Source?

When I go into my "Source Box" and attach a source to a profile, the page begins a loop of collapsing and expanding the entry I just attached. Beyond being visually unsettling, it also makes it impossible to attach the source to another profile without reloading the page because the constant resizing of the page causes all of the buttons to erratically shift locations. This has been going on for several months. Has anyone else encountered this?

If what I'm describing is unclear, I'd be happy to upload a screen capture of what's occurring.

I've seen it occasionally, but exiting FS and returning to the Source Box clears it.

Please read through the Troubleshooting Help article and apply the suggestions listed there. If you are still having problems, please provide details to help us recreate the issue. We need:

    • A link to the specific page in FamilySearch where you are experiencing a problem
    • Screenshots of the problem
    • Your tech information such as the type of device, operating system, browser type, web versions, etc.

A screenshot really doesn't convey what's occurring so I made a short screen capture video and converted it to a .gif since this forum doesn't support uploading standard video formats.

I cannot replicate the problem, but I just had an update show up for Chrome - Version 118.0.5993.89 (Official Build) (32-bit). I know it sounds silly, but have you shut down since this happened? I will see who I can get to look at this.

@Maile L I saw it one day this weekend. Probably Sunday. And I've had it a few other times. I'm usually in Firefox when I use FamilySearch. As I said, exiting FS and returning resolves it for me.

@Maile L I went ahead and restarted my system (and completed the update to the latest version of Chrome) per your request, but the issue still persists. When I sign into my account with other browsers or on other devices (with different operating systems), I see the same behavior. If I sign in with another account (which only has a handful of items in the source box), the page behaves as expected. I suspect it has something to do with the number of items in my source box. I've experienced this consistently since March and assumed it was a bug related to the new page layouts, etc.

@Áine Ní Donnghaile Yes, as I indicated in my original post, if I reload the page, it becomes stable once more. However, as soon as I attach, edit, or copy a source, the behavior reappears.
