Member names

If the site gave members numbers instead of user names there would be less meddling with other people's trees. For some members it's more to do with EGO than it does with adding accurate information. One guy / girl has 3 memberships but it's the same person and probably because they can follow 12,000 pages instead of 4. It's for this reason that many feel FS tree is just a waste of time.

I don't see how changing member names to be essentially anonymous numbers would be helpful. In my experience, people who are identified as who they really are behave better in places like Family Tree or social media than those who are completely anonymous. Of course it's abundantly clear that this is no guarantee of good behavior, but let's not reduce the few social guardrails we have that encourage better behavior.
