Thank the person/team for fixing expansion arrow alignment

I've been caregiving for 8 days and just came back to check on a few things.

Behold!

The new decendency chart has expansion arrows separated from the lineage lines!

Many thanks for making this happen. Sometimes it the small things that make big differences.

Thank you.

Well -- here we are a few days later and the expansion arrows that looked so good are now collapsing back to the lineage lines.

    FYI

    Been away for a bit..

Is it just me or has someone fixed the expansion arrow overlapping issue?

Sure looks sweet tonight .... and btw, adding the light blue highlight for 'living' on each person in a pedigree chart is sheer genius.

The expansion arrow issue is still there.

    HOWEVER ... I see another clue ...

If you have only a few kids (say 4), then the expansion arrows/lines align properly between generations.

If you have a lot of kids (say 8), then the expansion arrows/lines overlap between generations.

Which explains why I think its fixed (looking at less fertile members of the family). Then a few days later when working on another branch of the family (more fertile), the expansion arrows/lines are overlapping.

This problem surfaces only under certain conditions which seem to be related to quantity of elements to display.

I'm not sure just what you are talking about. You mentioned "the new descendancy chart" and expansion arrows. That makes me think that you are talking about the descendancy tree view, although it's not particularly new. One example can be found at https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/descendancy/LH2N-QSJ, with this result:

But all the expansion arrows and lines seem properly aligned, even though one of the spouses has 9 children.

If you're talking about something else, it would be helpful if you could respond with a URL and/or a screen shot to clarify. It's possible that your browser or its settings could be a factor as well....

Horizonal expansion arrows.... still has the problem, but its only a problem for very fertile couples.

I was checking on another thread resolution (long name truncation inconsistencies). In the above example, the horizontal line with the expansion arrows has 'up' and 'down' arrow buttons on the same line.

There needs to be just a bit more separate vertically in the above example. The 2nd 'down' button should not be sitting on the expansion line of the 'up' button. The cognitive dissonance introduced by the conflicting button directions is the problem.
