Gallery does not respond
After adding too many photos to my Gallery it does not respond. Response slowed significantly after the first 10,000 images. Stopped responding after adding another 10,000 images. Does not matter which browser is being used Chrome or Edge. Now no way to access memories in Gallery to Tag people, link images to people, edit titles, make private or public, edit titles, add descriptions etc. Or even delete images.

BTW the People link has been broken for many years. Will it ever come back or be fixed? Still times out with a server error. I believe it is a related problem. Too many people tags, server cannot respond.

I'm sure this is frustrating for you. The relevant help article says "if an account has more than 5,000 memories, the system can perform slowly": https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-many-memories-photos-stories-documents-and-audio-files-can-i-upload
That sounds like an understatement in your case, where you have 4 times the number of memories mentioned in the help article.
I don't have any problems with showing the People page, but I have fewer than 1000 memories.

I'm working in an account for our FamilySearch center that has almost 20,000 documents/pictures. It loads really slowly and sometimes it won't load at all. I have the best results if I open it and then leave it on that page until the gallery comes up. Don't go into an album or switch over to another tab. Just sit and wait. It usually comes up within a minute or two. If not, refresh and try again. It's super frustrating.

Although FamilySearch does not have a limit to the number of items you can upload to Memories yet, if an account has more than 5,000 memories, the system can perform slowly.
Each person record has a limit of 1,000 memory tags (or links) in FamilySearch.

yeh - up above like 15,000 items gallery response can be pretty slow
HOWEVER you should note that if you make use of ALBUMS - you can go directly to an album without having to wait for the gallery to complete its display.as has been said there really is no hard limit to number of items - BUT you wll get to a point where the system just isnt responsive.
I have been above 20,000 items - but I usually dont wait for the gallery to finish display - before I just go to an album and to the specific item I am going for.
ALL of my memories items are in albums - so I dont wait for the gallery.
album usage is critical with a high number of memories items.
I also think the RAM size and Network speed on your computer/device - can also be a big factor in the response time. There is also a 1,000 record limit per album.
