Indexing Report needs to Included the Get Involved app and time spent
My calling is a Stake Temple and Family History Consultant. As stated in the handbook we are specifically called to work with indexing. We recently kicked off a Stake effort for indexing. After discussing with a missionary at FamilySearch and a member of our Stake we decided to work on time spent on indexing instead of records completed. The first reason we went with time has to do with the level of indexing projects. Most indexing projects are no longer beginner projects. It takes a little time to learn how to do a batch and then do it and also some projects are advanced so it take more time to do less records. The second reason we went with time has to do with the Get Involved app. There is no report that measures what people do on that app.
I love the FamilySearch indexing report. I love being able to see who is indexing. I love being able to see the difference between indexing and reviewing.
Having this report go a couple of steps further would really help us in our calling. Our current report only shows we have 67 contributors in our whole Stake. I have a feeling it is really much more then that with those who use the Get Involved app. Please included this data on our indexing report.
The next step I would like to see is the time spent. Not each indexing project is apples to apples. When we are trying to encourage our members to do indexing asking them to indexing x number of records sometimes doesn't equate to the time it takes to do those records. I would love to have a way to measure that effort.
It has been amazing to see how Family History has changed in such a short amount of time. I thank you for all the efforts in keeping this work going and providing a wonderful platform for us to continue this work.
