I am helping a friend who is looking for the names of his great grandparents. His grandfather was John Gulam Mohammed 1898-1973, ID#G7PH-BF6. He died in Lincoln, Placer, California at the age of 75. We ordered a death certificate from California and his parents were listed as unknown. I found his obituary and it only lists his wife and children. His wife was Mary Tachiquin 1914-1991. He came into the U.S. through Ellis Island in 1914. I would love any additional information that may help me continue to help.

The "Countries" section in The Family History Guide might be helpful

Also the Family Search Wiki for Afghanistan
