How do I remove a marriage from a file that is not factual?

I am working in a family file, and am having several issues with documents that are contain information to prove that my relative was not previously married and did not have any other children when she married her husband.

The information has been there for quite some time and overlooked. This is the first time I have looked at this relative's information and I usually am quite thorough when I review my files.

I do not know how I can get this corrected, and do not want to run into problems with other people working within this file.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you, Brenda Ripa

@BrendaRipa, for anyone to be able to help you, I would suggest to start that you post the PID numbers and give more detail of what the issues are?

You might need to change or remove couple relationships and/or parent-child relationships. Here are the relevant help articles:

    • A person in Family Tree has the wrong spouse.
    • How do I correct parent-child relationships in Family Tree?

To minimize problems with others working on that same family, make sure that any relevant sources are attached, and explain your action in the reason statement for any relationships you delete or other changes you make.
