Assisted Living Facilities would be a great place to have Family Search Centers.

Although I like the idea, I believe that maybe assisted living would be a better fit. The current ideal model for many FamilySearch Centers is that patrons come to receive help from knowledgeable workers. The roles of patrons and helpers- who would fulfill those roles and how? I have yet to see a rest home where anyone in administration or the medical side seemed less than overwhelmed. They would probably love voluntary helpers, but please do NOT expect directors of programming or nurses to become expert genealogists immediately for this need. This would need to have logistics and roles figured out in advance whenever possible. Think about electrical, think about technology and cords or batteries, and think about whether or not given patrons are able to move. You need a MOBILE FamilySearch Center.
Adjustments for computer access, mobility, and moveability may need to be taken into account. Not everyone can sit at a table for this, so tablets may be an easier method. Think about people who are confined to beds, who can't raise their arms, or who need other help. Some people may be mobile, but not all are. And not everyone can run their own computer. There may be more hands-on help needed.
This would be a great idea to present for wards and branches to try to figure out locally. I'd love to see more youth consultants called- basically anyone that isn't already a member of a presidency immediately gets called to learn more about temple and family history work as they ALL need it. And not all of them may be interested. The idea of helping the rest center residents without the rest center needing to fund it, or needing special training for it is not bad. Youth and their leaders may receive training, but make it as easy as possible on the rest homes.
If you want FamilySearch Centers in rest homes, you need to check on space requirements and similar. The mobile FamilySearch Center sounds like a better idea.
