Where has this birthdate come from please?
Henry "Harry" Hoodless L9GL-3YX
FamilySearch website says that this man was born 1 February 1782 at Sebergham, Cumberland, England, to parents William and Isabel Hoodless.
I CAN'T find any source for that date of birth, or even a baptism record. There is no source to say he was the child of William and Isabel.
There ARE sources to say he was born around 1784 at Sebergham, Cumberland (they are the 1841 and 1851 English census).
Please can someone help me? What document is there to say Henry was the child of William and Isabel, and to say he was born 1st Feb 1782?
Thank you.
This is the first time I've asked a question here, so I hope I've asked in the correct place!

If you look at the history of changes, the complete birth date was added by FamilySearch 2012, which means it was in a previous environment which got migrated over to this current product. The original contributor's name could not be transferred, thus it shows as "FamilySearch".
I think you should feel free to edit the date, but I myself would keep it as an alternate fact. It is not likely someone made up that date. It is just unsourced at present.

Thank you so much for your reply. I didn't know that is what 'FamilySearch 2012' meant.
I've tried to find a baptism for this person in family search collections and elsewhere online but haven't found anything. It's such a pity. I don't feel I can edit the date as I don't have any other information/source to replace it with. The best I can do is not include that information/parents in my own family tree unless I can find evidence.

When you get around to editing Henry's profile, the nickname Harry should go in the Alternate Name/Nickname field, instead of in quotes in the primary Name field.

Thank you, but I'm not going to edit the profile as I don't have any additional sources or information.

If the baptism does come from the Church of England, then there are usually various possibilities for Cumberland parishes. Some are in FindMyPast (but Sebergham doesn't appear in their list), some are in www.freereg.org.uk (but again Sebergham doesn't appear to be in that list).
FamilySearch appears to have Sebergham parish register baptisms on film 1471994 but that does not appear to be available online. (It has a film reel icon so I'm not sure where it can be seen). The Bishops' Transcripts for Sebergham are on film 90661 but I can't access that without being at a FamilySearch centre or FS affiliate library. I'm unsure how complete the BTs are - they usually have gaps. I doubt that the BTs that do exist have been fully indexed because there's a strange lack of people named Smith in that parish.
I'd want to see the images of either the PRs or the BTs to check up on Harry - that's probably where your answer is. Unless you can get to Carlisle Record Office, I think you need to get to a FamilySearch centre or FS affiliate library - unless someone knows any better way of accessing those films.

I get to my FSC about once a week, if a look-up would help.

You might want to look at the following sites that have the information recorded:

@Casa6579 I'm currently looking at DGS 7903739, the Bishops' Transcripts for Caldbeck.
Elizabeth Hoodless, daughter of William and Isabella was baptized on 26 October 1781 (Image 195 of 761).
Image 197 covers 1 Jan 1782 to 1 Jan 1783. I see no Hoodless on that page.
Image 199 is 1 Jan 1783 to 1 Jan 1784. No Hoodless.
Image 201 is 1784 - the scribe was not quite as specific - just the year. No Hoodless.
Image 207 is Jan 1785 to Jan 1786. No Hoodless.
Image 209 is Jan 1786 to Jan 1787. No Hoodless.
Image 211 is Jan 1787 to Jan 1788. No Hoodless.
Image 214 is 1 Jan 1788 to 1 Jan 1789. No Hoodless.
Image 216 is 1 Jan 1789 to Jan 1790. No Hoodless.
I've saved the page for Elizabeth's christening if you would like a copy.

Of no direct help on the specific issue of his birth or baptism dates, but I did a quick search on the Cumbria Archives website and found this - of which you are possibly already aware:
BTW - I added a source for his 1856 death, whilst reviewing his Family Tree profile.
