This Record https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M97G-D86

has Mary Littlefield, age 55, appearing 4 times as HER OWN DAUGHTER, which is not the case on the original document

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6QHT-W3?i=6&cc=1325221 lines 9-15.

ALSO Hannah E Primrose, age 28 is listed three times, as a daughter [correct in relationship to the Head], sister [true, but NOT toward the Head], and wife [true regarding Arthur Primrose, bur NOT the wife of the Head],

and Charles E Primrose, age 4, twice, as a brother [never] and as a son [sic Grand son of the Head, but True as son of Hannah and Arthur Primrose].

The Household Members based on the census image are

Line 9 Mary Littlefield   55   Head

line 10 Elias Littlefield   27   Son

line 11 Oliver E Littlefield   25   Son

line 12 Lorenzo M Littlefield   23   Son

line 13 Hannah E Primrose   28   Daughter

line 14 Arthur Primrose   25   Son-in-law

line 15 Charles E Primrose   3   Grandson

line 16 Elihu Littlefield   16   Son

It would appear that I can edit each of the redundant Mary Littlefields, etc. to be replaced with the names of persons missing on the Record versus the original census, but I am hesitant to do so, concerned that I could make things worse, given the multi-generational family here, and that the only relevant editable fields that I have access to are name and birth date, and NOT the Gender or the relationship.

The error is not from the original indexing. A few months ago, the existing index for the 1900 census (and a few other record sets) became corrupted. It's been mostly fixed, but there are some outliers remaining.

@N Tychonievich - sorry, I don't remember if this is one that you were shepherding. It's been a while since I ran into a 1900 problem.

@FLQR Thank you for reporting an instance of the corrupted index for the 1900 US Census. I will report it to the group that can fix it. Unfortunately, they have a sizeable backlog of issues, so we can't predict how long it will take for a correction to be in place.

Meanwhile, if you'd like to use the census as a source in Family Tree for the family, you can use the image as the source. Above the census image, click Source Box and then Add to Source Box. If you have never attached a source to a Tree profile from your Source Box, this Help and Learning article has instructions: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-attach-source-from-source-box
