Merge an Individual

While this is not a new idea, it is something that I noticed that needs to be addressed. I couldn't find any other way to make contact with Family Search.

Benjamin Franklin's wife Deborah Read was married prior to being married to Benjamin Franklin (the Founding Father). Deborah Read's first husband was John Rogers. However, in Family Search there are two records for John Rogers. I was unable to merge them because he is connected to a "Read Only" person.

The two records for John Rogers are: MVVD-FFQ and LWV3-JKS

I believe it would be advisable to merge these two records. I always like a clean record for individuals. I'm sure others feel the same way. Thank you for your help and consideration.

There is a "Contact Us" button just to the right of your post, @Trekker, with options to contact by telephone or email.

This post was originally under "Suggest an Idea." That's why I pointed out the "Contact Us" button.

I have thankfully never needed to touch anything even near a read-only part of the tree, but it seems entirely reasonable to me that people resort to creating duplicates that they can edit, in place of the read-only profiles that they can't.
