raise the limit on ordinance cards that can be printed

How can I print out more names than those needed for one initiatory session and one endowment session?

I travel weekly to the temple (round trip nearly 5 hours) with a friend who works in the baptistry. I have found that I can perform initiatory ordinances for 10 women and 1 endowment, plus several sealings, during my friend's shift.

If FS let me print more ordinance cards, I could do something more productive with my time than hold down a spot on a bench and meditate beatifically.

The last time I did initiatories, the sisters were very pleased that I asked to do names they already had printed. The temple file is large and any work we do using those name is appreciated.

Im a bit confused . . . what option are you using to print your cards?

using the "My Reservations" and Print option you can print 50 at a time.

Im guessing you might be using the "Ordinances Ready" option instead - which seems to default to 5.

but which could (I assume) be executed multiple times to print multiples of 5.

Ordinances Ready will not give you any more than the original five until those are completed. If you run it again, it will give you the same five names.

The solution is to use the tools we have for that purpose, that is, Family Tree and our personal reservation list. One easy place to start is with the names that Ordinances Ready gives you. First of all check each one of them and see your relationship to make sure you only do ordinances for their relatives if they are also your relatives. Do they have sisters that also need ordinance work done? Do they have grand-daughters that do? Or cousins? If so, and if they are your relatives, reserve those ordinances and complete them as well.

thanks for that clarification Gordon about "Ordinances Ready".

Printing from "My Reservations" works for as many as you want to print (no real max). But the assumption is you have a reserve list (which the Ordinances Ready option never required)

I use techniques similar to what Gordon explains and then move them to my reserved list - and then I can print out as many as I need - no limit.

With Ordinance Ready - you dont have to go "looking for names" - the system finds them for you - but a max of 5 until you complete them (this part I didnt realize) .

In contrast with Reserved Names - one way or another you find and reserve them yourself either looking in Family Tree or by adding new records to Family Tree - and then you temple reserve them - and then can print as many as you want.
