Sharing confidential names with Family members
Hi Folks,
Will the new familyGroups option have a feature to share names that are from sensitive countries?
I am helping a guest and his father has done extensive research over the years and some of his ancestors are from sensitive countries.
He is wondering if it is possible that these family members are able to be 'seen' by all family members or at the very least be able to be added to the familyGroup?
Because of this issue duplicates have been created and are unable to be merged due to not able "see" them in familySearch.
Please advise

Firstly, I wonder what your "Yes" is a response to?
Secondly, your comments elsewhere suggest you are a moderator or have some other attachment to FamilySearch. Please confirm, as your Profile page describes you simply as a "Member" of Community. It is always good to know if participants are responding in an "official" capacity, or merely expressing their own opinions.

Paul, Todd Powell is the senior project manager for Family Tree. This means he Knows Stuff, but has no special role here in the Community.

Thanks for the clarification as to Todd's role, Julia & Gordon.
Hope I haven't offended him, but am still interested in confirming that whether by "Yes" he did mean it will be possible to share names involving "sensitive countries".

The upcoming feature for sharing trees in a Family Group will let people share private persons within the group. It doesn't matter whether they are private because they are living, or private because they are deceased, but are connected to sensitive countries.
