To inprove the veiwing area of open tree record.
Is it possible to increase the background colours to make the results clearer. As you will see from this snip copy the details of the persons can overlap since the background colour does not help to show the information clearly. It was suggested that i should adjust the " High contrast mode". However after trying this, the solution does not solve the problem for this adjusts the full screen. My solution to assist the viewing of an open persons record is an extension of what is already in place encircle the open box with a thin Red or Blue line around to high light that area.
samplies Snip 1 how it is , snip 2 showing box, snip 3 thin red line around record so as to define record.
Blue for the male & Red for the Female and Green for the Unknown.

@SG7107 Have you joined and posted in the group devoted to the New Person Page?

The highlight color used to be a lot, um, louder, but it was awful: I couldn't work on female profiles at all, because the page was visually screaming at me that there was an error -- except there wasn't, it was just the pink highlight.
If I've been away from FS's tree for a few days, it still takes me several minutes to stop startling at the "error" messages that aren't. I am therefore vehemently opposed to any increase in the use of red or pink on the person page.

It does not matter what colour is used, it is the fact that the box is merging into the background of the records, I continued the theme since they already appear, for that matter it could be "black " and thicker.
As you will know it hovers over the main record.

I wonder if this is a browser or monitor issue. The pop up of the open record that I see has quite a distinct shadow around it that makes the box clearly standout out from the rest of the page. This is even with my myopia that throws off my visual depth of field and makes 3D effects harder to see.
For some reason your snip #2 has some weird scalloping that hides this effect. In mine, the pop up does have sufficient highlighting to see its boundary just fine.
If there are monitors or browsers that mute the shadowing, it wouldn't hurt to have it be a little darker and a little more prominent to give a little bit blacker line around the box.

Well Gordon, it could be a browser or monitor issue but i do not consider this to be so. The visual aspect does change across platforms however the back ground tends to be relatively stable. It is a matter of the not what you see but what you do not.
Remember the outline is to high light the content and concentrate the results.
What browser are you using ? - maybe yours has has a dirty screen for you to look through
"mine browser is this "Version 115.0.1901.183 (Official build) (64-bit) " edge

I usually use Safari 16.5.
I don't think a dirty screen would affect just the screen shot you included in your original post. Here is a comparison of a part of your screen shot and what I see when I go to the same spot in Family Tree and open the same pop up in the same position. This time I replicated yours even closer than my first attempt. Your screen shot is first, followed by my view:
Yours is choppy and does blend into the background in spots for some reason. Mine has a very clear, distinct boarder that highlights the contents nicely but I wouldn't object to it being a tiny bit darker.
I'm just trying to understand if something happened to your screen shot or if that really is what you see in your browser.

For comparison - I normally use Firefox and/or Chrome. I keep Edge installed and up-to-date, but I rarely use it. Here's the same screenshot from Edge Version 115.0.1901.183 (Official build) (64-bit) using Windows 10. Distinct depth and separation.

Given that none of us can re-create that jagged-edge effect seen in SG's second image, I'm pretty sure that it's not actually a screenshot: I think what inadvertently got posted was an interim step of editing to get to the third image (the suggestion).
I would have no objection to the popup's shadow being a slightly darker shade of gray, but I'm not sure what the point would be. The popup doesn't line up with anything and interrupts what's underneath, so it is quite easy to distinguish.

Sorry to have to inform you Julia that was the only way i could produce the image - irrespective of the image
you have seen it can very over a number of platforms or monitors.
The fact remains the third image being a guide is to show that it tends not have conclusive sides when it appears over the other information. like this posting box. shown !
