For instance I frequently use Ascending Date of Birth because I like to do the oldest people first. I would like the choice to add male or female to that or perhaps some other filter but you can only do one currently.

    It sounds like you would like to make a suggestion. Click on "Suggest An Idea" on the right side. Our engineers really listen and often respond to the submitter

    I assume you are not talking about Filters but about the sorting criteria under the Following options:

    Each level of sorting added does make creation of the list more and more complicated which is probably why we can't sort by more than one criteria at a time anywhere we have an options panel like this.

    I agree this could be a useful upgrade for some situations. Whether the connivence of having that ability will ever exceed the effort to get multiple levels of sorting working is another matter.

    In regards to submitting an idea like this, unless there is a particular design project going on such as the recent update to the person pages, do not expect to hear back from anyone. We have been assured many times that all such ideas get forwarded to the engineers, but we almost never hear back from them unless it is in regards to a bug they need more information about.

    @PABulfinch

    Whilst I would not wish to discourage adding posts under "Suggest an Idea", there is little direct evidence that the engineers really do read all the ideas placed there. Also, I would agree with Gordon that any response from the engineers would be the exception rather than the rule*.

    For this forum to be classified as a genuine FamilySearch "Community", there really needs to be a far greater degree of engineer / employee participation.

    (* The one proviso would be if the engineers do respond directly to those making suggestions, by way of sending private messages. From looking through "Suggest an Idea" there is little evidence to show any public involvement.)

    The ideas are read. As far as evidence goes, a while back comments were being made about ideas being sent to the appropriate teams. Community members complained about those posts, so we stopped.
