What to do when sources to attach is greater than 200?
Firstly, I'm not here to debate personal preference when it comes to sources. I genuinely could not care less what someone else's opinion is of "too many" sources.
This is a technical question for FS - what is the remedy for non-duplicative sources over 200? Am I to e.g. remove some of his military sources so that I can add his divorce?
I don't understand this limitation, especially when a profile can have a rather preposterous 200 spouses, 200 parents, and 400 children. [!]

Brad:
We are going to refer you to this Knowledge Article in FamilySearch, in case some of them are duplicates. https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/what-do-i-do-with-duplicate-record-hints-in-family-tree.
If this is not the case, please provide the ID number of the person, so we can help further. Thank you.

Two examples of the 200 attached sources limit are:
Perrigrine Sessions (1814-1893) PID: KWCG-4W6
Anson Call (1810-1890) PID: KVP5-P7S
These person records already have 200 sources attached, and have Record Hints and those Record Hints are being "pushed" in marketing campaigns and on the main FamilySearch page.
PLEASE: Either raise the source limit, or stop "pushing" users to link record hints on people who are already at their limit.

I agree that it is ridiculous to limit sources. If you run into someone who had a significant impact, or lots of children, it is too easy to reach this limit. Also, I get complaints if I don't source the memories I add. But I can't do that because they are frequently mentioned. See Richard Treat Sr. 94YN-5LG.

Julie,
I looked at Richard Treat since he's my direct ancestor, too
Detached every Geneanet one - not primary or secondary. Most are just copied from FamilySearch or Ancestry like Ancestry Trees (usually with no links and mostly no sources.)
Detached duplicate 5 external Findagrave since there's just one already internal.
Detached 2 Millennium File - known to have been pillaged from Anestral File and sold to predecessor of Ancestry before the person was caught in the act and expelled from the FamilySearch Library for good.
Detached "Ancestry Trees" - no link
The rest, they need be examined closely. North America Histories - some are clearly already within FamilySearch Catalog, can be consolidated and referred to the single book.
That leaves 162 sources as the result.
That guy attached too many without checking closely.
This should raise the quality of this profile.

Tilby - about Peregrine Sessions and Anson Call.
Remember they had several polygamous wives, that increase the number of sources.
BTW, for Peregrine, I discovered one duplicate and detached it. He has 199 now. However the ones without the years listed, they need to be reopened to check for the year to add, this might lead to duplicates to be detached.

I wouldn't be too happy at finding anywhere near 200 sources attached to one of the profiles in which I have an interest. Pretty pointless when many don't even have a link attached (as @W D Samuelsen contact me please found) and where it might take hours to confirm each one genuinely does have a connection to the individual to whose profile it has been attached. For one ancestor, I came across over 20 sources relating to electoral register entries. I attached a couple, but saw no need to cause clutter and the use of my valuable time in adding them all. In nearly all cases I have encountered that have, say, even 70+ sources attached, most either have links that don't work for me (just take me to another website's Home page), or turn out to be sources for unrelated individuals of similar identity.
