Incorrect reference to Cherokee Nation
My wife, Nan Lorayne Huls Howard, sent out letters for her Huls family names. She pass not
doing anything with the information. I have come across her genealogy and I can not find it
that list the Cherokee reference to the Cherokee Nation. They list the state not the nation. They were not part of Georgia, North Caroline or Tennessee. They are a nation. All Native Americans are a separate nation in the United States. The Supreme Court has ruled that they are a separate nation. This has been in the courts for years. They are a separate nation. What can be done to list the the reference as native Americana in the source? I

That's a good question which I don't have the answer for. But I was recently updating/fixing/standardizing location names in the US. I came across one that was originally submitted as "Cherokee Nation", yet there were no options under "standard locations" for that....so I skipped it. I hope that's something that can get fixed/updated.
