When indexing you can get translation to english for many standard forms of birth, death, etc. records in other languages. you should make these translations available in the family search searches when the search results show any records where the record form translation to english is available.

Do you mean the guides found in the indexing instructions of some projects? In my experience, that material -- or its close equivalent -- is almost always in the research wiki.
