"Recents" button in Family Tree

Please consider adding the "Recents" button to the Family Tree "home" page! It seems to appear everywhere once I am actually *in* the Family Tree section, but not on the front page.

https://www.familysearch.org/search/tree/name?from=

Since that is often the first place I go when I log in, it seems odd that I have to go to another page to find it.

Thanks!

I always see a "Recent People" box on my home page. It's typically on the right side, down a little ways. The content on the home page is customized for each person, depending on a variety of factors, so I suppose it's possible that some people might not see the "Recent People" box, but I always see it.

I rarely visit my Home page, so I just checked it out. Sure enough, "Recents" appears to the right of "Home" at the top of the page and (as Alan notes) "Recent People" is there on the right side. Still the same function as within Family Tree, including the ability to Add Unconnected Person.

But... I just re-read your post and it appears to be a little ambiguous in talking about the "Family Tree "home" page". I assume you did mean the FamilySearch Home page.

@JSmith528 I didn't read all of your post carefully the first time. I see now that you provided a URL that points to the Search menu's Family Tree option. I would not call that the "Family Tree `home` page". That particular page is an interesting one in that you can get to it in two different ways: Search | Family Tree or Family Tree | Find. If you get to it via Family Tree | Find, you will have the Recents options, since you are in the Family Tree section of the menu.

But if you get to it via Search | Family Tree (which is what what that URL indicates that you did), then you are in the Search section of the menu. To my thinking, it doesn't particularly make sense to include Recents in a Search menu. It's already a pretty big menu, with options that are related to actual searching.

You said that's the first place you go when you login. However, if you choose to go to the Family Tree | Find page, you'll be on the same page, but with a different menu that includes the Recents option:

I apologise for misunderstanding the exact point being raised. (Thank you Alan, for pointing out the inclusion of the hyperlink to the page in question.) However, this is a page I have never found any use for, as it is really only an additional way of using the FIND function, as well as being of informational value to newcomers.

The page itself ("Search the Family Tree") is only a relatively new introduction and seems to have been created by the developers in order to have a "counterpart" to the "Search Historical Records" page at https://www.familysearch.org/search/.

Personally, I only see a use for "Recents" when at work within the Family Tree program, but can see how other users might feel its inclusion at https://www.familysearch.org/search/tree/name?from= to be of additional benefit.
