I am reviewing the above batch. I have a question as to the record month used on Image 1. I looked at the sample and there should be a date listed on the image. The indexer took the date from the second image above the Oath of Allegiance statement. Is this correct?

Sally Ann Simmons, refer to my answer here about two-page Petition for Naturalizations:

Additional Note: The indexer missed the variation in spelling shown in line (9).

    Surname: Liu Or Liv

These are difficult because in China the surname comes before the given name. The surname is Hsing and the given name is indexed as Hui Liu or Hui Liv. Hsing is a common surname in China.

When we can't identify whether something is a surname or a given name, we are instructed to type it in the Given Name Field. So, in essence, you could index this name as

Given Name: Hsing Hui Liu or Hsing Hui Liv

But, now knowing that Hsing is a surname, you can index it as such!

The spouses Given name is Teh Ming and the surname is blank.

The indexer was correct to use the date from the Affidavit of Witness statement as the Record date on image 1.
