Why won't the program allow me to index a year of 1629?
A box pops up and says I'm only allowed to enter a year between 1632 and 2021, but the image clearly states the year is 1629.

You should provide the batch code which is the series of letters and numbers in brackets following the title to get an answer to your question.
Example: US, New York—Eastern District Naturalization Records, 1906–1957 [Part A][MQHJ-CHT]
There are often reasons why the program doesn't allow a date to be entered, but, without seeing the project instructions, it is hard to tell why this is happening.

Usually it's because the date you want to put in comes before the date range of the project, as in your case. Many times the project instructions will tell us to still index a record that doesn't fit within the date range, but they may not. Like Melissa said, we can help you look for any clarification in the instructions if you give a share batch code or link.
