Cannot remove child or replace parent
William and Mary have 11 children. William and Jane (2nd wife) have 1 child (Charles). "Parents and Siblings" shows William and Mary as parents of all 12 children. When trying to remove the one child (Charles) from William and Mary, all 12 are removed. Also, tried removing the parent and got the same results. See photos

Your images have not yet appeared, so we can't see what you are trying to illustrate. If you can share the PID numbers, it will be easier for us to try to help.

Hi @W Andrews
As suggested above, do share the ID’s as the pics are not yet avail, and maybe we can make changes on your behalf?
Presumably, you are aware that to best make the appropriate changes —and avoiding undoing/repeating a lot of work like attaching sources etc.— is to ensure the focus person is selected before making changes?
Then, if you are simply unlinking people, you are aware that you can choose to “delete the relationship” instead of “remove/replace” the relevant people in the relationship, so as to preserve sources that are attached?
Thirdly, even if people ‘disappear’ you are aware that they still exist in the database, and if you record the ID you can find them again and reconnect where/if necessary?
Please let us know if this is not useful or already considered, so we can move on to next steps to try to assist.

@W Andrews This is just a guess without seeing your images, but I suspect you are using the wrong family relationship editing icons, those little pencils to the right of each person's name in the Family Member's section. They each work a little bit differently. In order to remove one child from a set of parents, you really need to use the pencil next to that child's name.
For example, to removed Helge and just Helge from the following family, it is very important to use the icon next to his name which I have circled:
Clicking there and choosing to remove or replace parents should remove just him from the family. If that is what you are doing and that is not working, then something is really going wrong and you need to provide more details.
