Permanent Opted-In Relatives connect feature
Hi. I participated in Rootstech this year, but only recently noticed the Connect function, which was still running a few months afterwards. What a Godsend! This would have allowed me to find attendees who were descendants of any specific ancestor. This is very useful for asking what kind of family lore, photos, or artifacts they might have, as well as to offer to send DNA kits to living relatives.
I did not know that you would be pulling the plug on this function. I signed up for it, but did not have time to work on it at first. When I returned, I found that it was no longer available. You can already review your relationship to someone who has done work on an ancestor's page if they have opted in to this, but there is no way to search for users who share a common ancestor. This would save us a remarkable amount of research time.
