The EDIT button allows me to edit, or Make New Edit if an edit already exists. If I select Make a New Edit, I can see the previous edits. Until you discover this, you would not know how to see the previous edits. Suggestion: add the option; "View Edits"

Example: KD1V-RDJ, 1910 census

This already exists, although it's mystery-meat navigation at its finest: on the index entry's detail page, click the little arrow after the edited field to see its previous contents.

(Yes, the index got everything wrong that could be gotten wrong, but the image is very fuzzy and the handwriting is atrocious.)
