tract books

It is always best to share your batch to get an answer. But, usually we would index each transaction. However:
- If multiple dates were given for the same transaction, index the "Date of Sale." If the date of sale was not given, index the "Date of Entry."

Tract books MQH3-9VC Burn with two different dates for the same transaction I don't know why a particular name on one page needs to be indexed more than once regardless of the date. I just want to index tract books correctly. Thanks for the help.

Thinking about it, I probably know the answer. If the numbers after the date are different I shouldn't assume Eliza Burn is the same person. I see the difference in the years too. I need to put my thinking cap on before I ask questions.

I agree with you 1000% that we should only have to index the names once and allow the researcher to find the images! They can figure out what they need to learn from the tract books. But, I also agree with you that the difference in sale dates makes them different transactions. You are doing fine. Sometimes we just need reassurance that the we are reading the instructions correctly, even when they aren't very logical.
Happy Indexing, Mary Anne!
