Why do I have to sign in on every tab after a session timeout?
When I get a timeout, I have to sign in (click the ‘Sign in’ button). Fair enough!
But in the last couple of weeks I not only have to sign in again – I have to do it on each and every tab in my browser.
That is really annoying!
I usually have several windows and tabs open (like most people, I guess). And sometimes I work for some time in other windows/tabs – finding data, asking people questions etc. And when I get back to FamilySearch to update I meet the ‘Sign In’ page – or rather 5, 10 or 15 ‘Sign In’ pages.
Until a couple of weeks ago this didn’t happen. I only had to login once after timeout – even if I had several tabs in several windows.
Is there anything I can do to change this annoying thing?

Browser is Google Chrome, btw.

Do you mean FamilySearch.org or do you mean here in the Community? If you mean FamilySearch.org, please see this thread - https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/515142#Comment_515142

Yes, I do mean FamilySearch.org, and yes, I do know the difference between just clicking the Sign In button and signing in using credentials.
Even if I don’t have to use credentials, it’s still very annoying, that you have to refresh every tab and click the Sign In button on each and every tab in each and every window with FamilySearch.org tabs.
And since it wasn’t so until quite recently, I do think it’s an error.
Until recently I only saw the Sign In button on ONE tab when I came back to FS from other sites. When that button was clicked ONCE I was OK on all tabs in all windows. What a difference...

Did you read the thread to which I directed you in my first comment?

Of course I did. But I don’t see how that applies?
Please spell it out, please – English is not my first language, sorry!

If you sign in, and use the "keep me signed in for 2 weeks" option, you don't need to sign back in as long as the 2-week cookie is still active. Just perform your search or other action, and you will see the Sign In button flicker and change to your username.

I didn't realise you'd already raised this issue, as I posted my similar problem under the "Family Tree" category - a moderator (quite correctly) moving it here, to "FamilySearch Account", which is when I found your similar question.
I agree that there seems to be a change in behaviour, as I have not experienced this problem in the past. It now appears that, to avoid having to sign-in again against every tab one has opened, the "keep me signed in for 2 weeks" box has to be checked.
As explained at https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/146969/why-have-i-been-having-to-sign-in-again-against-every-tab-ive-had-open-when-timed-out#latest (and by @Áine Ní Donnghaile, above) this seems to be the solution to the problem. I assume the reason you and I have apparently been the only ones experiencing this problem is that most other users always do check the "two weeks" option. As explained in the other thread, I have previously found this a waste of time, as my cookies are cleared whenever I close my browser, so the record of my having made a "keep me signed in for two weeks" request just disappears each night!
