    Image 1:

You will have one entry only. To delete the extra entries, locate the trash can on the toolbar, then select "All Blank Entries" and click Delete.

Birthplace is Malacca, Malaya. We do not index what country they are a subject/citizen of.

You will not have a Record Date. The Record Date on a Declaration is taken from the Affidavit of Witness section, which this document does not have. The record place is Brooklyn, New York. This is located in the upper right side of the Petition and is also shown on the How To Index a Petition of Naturalization example in the Project Instructions.

Image 2 is a duplicate of Image 1. On Image 2, Go to Step 1: Images, mark it as "No, Duplicate Image", then select Image 1 as the duplicate image. We do not create entries for anyone other than the principal person, because the spouse/child(ren) are not the one(s) seeking citizenship. It's just a question and was sometimes used to update the petitioner's status between the Declaration of Intention ("first papers") and the Petition of Naturalization ("second papers"). A status change would usually be a marriage or additional children, since the entire process took a minimum of 5 years. Located in the Project Instructions:

    • Do not create separate entries for people other than the principal. For example, do not create separate entries for the spouse or children of the principal person.
