If you have a company instead of a name, you will index it under the Mortgagor/Motgagee's Company or Organization Name and you will leave the Given and Surnames fields blank. The How To Index A Mortgagors List 3, under What To Index in the Project Instructions shows you how to do this.

Anything that has "Fraternity" in front of the company name, You will index it as Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Chapter of Kappa Sigma in the Company or Organization Name field.

Thank you for that @erutherford, but I'm still confused about when there is a "chapter of" or a surname and company name.

Hello, @Layne, Rex William. I checked over a few of your entries to better understand the confusion.
Maybe this will help a bit:
On Image 3, Walter P. Cooke & Ano is the Mortgagee. You would only index the Given Name: Walter P and Surname: Cooke and then mark the Mortgagee Corporation or Organization Name blank. & Ano is the abbreviation of "and Another". The project instructions say not to index descriptive words or terms like by Atty, et al, or and spouse. So you don't have to index & Ano or Trustee, etc.
I think the reason you index Chapter of is because it is the legal name of the Organization, even though it could be considered a descriptive term.
As @erutherford notes, you index the Fraternity and mark the Mortgager's Given and Surname fields blank.
Just do your best! The goal is to give folks searchable names so they can find the image and do their own research.
Happy Indexing!
