Which template to use for batch M3F2-6RY
Reviewing this batch. The indexing was done using the baptism template, even though these are membership records. I've read the project instructions. I suppose the indexer chose the baptism template because the records all include the birthdate as well as a date of arrival (which I realize is not the same as a baptism date).
Should I really change to the membership template, which has only an event date? (Incidentally changing templates apparently wipes out the entered information so each record will have to be reindexed.)

@TaylorWally Sorry to get back to you so late. I haven't been on the Community website for a while. I did not look up the Batch Number you gave, which you have no doubt already returned, but your description was very thorough and I understand your question. I have reviewed thousands of these particular SA Dutch records and understand your confusion also. We've all been there! You guessed right to return it for Re-Indexing, and yes it does wipe out all of the data entered so far. But it was incorrect data, so don't worry about that. I've seen several kinds of templates used for this type of record and I'm glad you recognized that what was given was NOT a Gedoopt, or Baptism/Christening date. Either an age number is given, ie 16 jaar or 17 jaar, or a Geboren or Birth date is given. We never use this in Church Membership and it does not indicate a Birth or Baptism record if the other date/dates given are under a Waneer columns. Records with Waneer column Dates are always Church Membership.
