Is it possible to find more information?
Hello!
I live in Finland. A friend of mine asked me to help with her family history. I could follow her family until Georg Wright who was born 1630 in Dundee Scotland. I wonder if you could find more information about him and perhaps his parents.

Can you find or help me to find some more information about Gearge Wright? Thank you!

You might consider posting in the British Isles Research Group where there are a number of qualified helpers for research in that area.

The records for Dundee parish do not appear to have survived prior to 1645. Therefore, his 1630 birth is either based on guesswork or there might be difficult-to-locate surviving documents that provide evidence of the event. I thought I was going to have an easy job in tracing my Scottish ancestry after reading all the old parish registers had been indexed. However, only a limited number of registers would date back to the early 1600s and those that do often contain very sparse records, suggesting many (birth / baptism) events were simply not recorded.
