Is there a reason that a search prior to 1700 CE is not allowed in FS? Just curious. I have been tracking a Colonial line that predates 1700 and it will not allow me to search.

Where are you searching? What are your search parameters? I just tested, searching on one of my surnames from the Colonial (today US) period, and the search behaved normally, returning a Massachusetts Bay Colony marriage from 1666.

it was just a general search by name and possible birth year. when i input the year the entry box said i had to put in a year after 1700.

must have been a temporary glitch in the search box. it works now...thanks for responding. I will wait a while next time before i post..

Ah! I think I've figured it out: the "All Collections" search says "Year must be between 1700 and 2023".

If you're looking for indexed historical records, try using Search - Records instead.
