I need to see at least the first 8 characters in a title of an image (not just a thumbnail of it)
Since the roll out of the new person page there are times (like today when I tried to do a work-around for George CRUMP 1746-1825 L61Y-HQV) to add a photo of his signature from one of my albums I only saw the thumbnail and not the beginning of the title. Without the first 8 characters of the title I cannot find the correct pic. When it only shows me the image without any of the title their is absolutely no way I can figure out which of the images in any of my albums is the correct one. For example my album, titled: 2011Jan9VA, has 991 images. I purposely, kept the DSCN number on all my pics so I could find a particular pic using the find function built into the Gallery and so I can order the pics the way I took them within an album.

I see what you mean about the Gallery view being useless if you don't happen to know exactly what the guy (or document) looks like. It desperately needs at least tooltips or something, showing the title if there is one, or the filename if there isn't.
I'm not sure what you mean about his Photos section, though. If I click his portrait, I see four things: what looks like a screenshot of a Find A Grave page, and three yellowed, handwritten documents. Are none of those the image you want?

Yes, it allowed me to click on it eventually. But there never should be a time that we see a thumbnail of a document or a photo without at least the beginning of the title:
