Micro Fiche
Hello I’m researching Tosca Italy and I see that the exact one I need has a film wheel. I would love to access it but am unable to travel to Utah. I know there is a FS center near me but am not sure if these film wheel ones are specifically sent to FS centers or just in Utah. I don’t know if there is anyone in FS center that can look up a specific record within it. I would like to browse through the whole film since most of ancestors are in that commune/town.
I filled out a form about a request but if this can’t be sent how can I get the birth record I’m looking for? Could someone at FS center look it up for me?
the film number is 1732096
Items 9-15

Thank you
Tamara

All microfilm has been digitized. Nothing is sent. Availability varies by contract and privacy regulations. The first letter in DGS stands for Digital.
The film wheel icon indicates that DGS is only available at Salt Lake City, not at FamilySearch Centers. Often that is for reasons of privacy, and I notice that some items on that film are within the 100-year rule. Specifically, there are baptisms as recent as 1966.

Thank you! that is what I thought when seeing the 1900’s. Is there a way to get a 1879 baptism on there without going to Utah?

Currently, films are restricted entirely. A single record in the privacy-protected range means the entire film is restricted. There is a project in process to break apart those digital record groups, but it will take some time to complete. It's also possible that record group will still be restricted based on the contract with the record creator/holder.
There are researchers - some paid, some free/volunteer - based in SLC who will retrieve a record. Options on Cyndi's List.
