Of the provinces available under country 'Dominican Republic,' 'Baoruco' is no longer available.

    It's still available:

Bahoruco,  Dominican Republic has alternate name Baoruco.

The problem you are experiencing appears to relate to a relatively new piece of programming, whereby in some cases, when making a search one has to enter the full place name (e.g. baoruco, not just "bao") before desired place name will appear.

As genthusiast advises, it is still available - just a little more difficult to bring-up!

However, if the second option is is in the wrong format (or refers to a smaller location in Dominican Republic named Baoruco) just choose the first option.

As is often discussed here, within Family Tree you can still input the place name (as you wish it to be displayed on a page) and it will standardize to the name in the Places database:
